The Friends of Central Hawke's Bay Libraries are a group who actively help the libraries by promoting the libraries as a worthwhile community resource and centre of information. Throughout the year they organise and run library related projects and social functions, like hosting local writers and Christmas book evenings.
Over the last few years, the money they have raised through raffles, quiz nights and donations has gone to purchasing sewing machines, guitars, Lego, light fittings and much more.
A recent project they supported is the Central Hawke's Bay Schools reading programme which sees over 1000 primary aged children reading and rewarded for reading.
There are usually 4 meetings a year. We'd love to have you come along. We are always open to fresh ideas and new faces.
Alternatively, if you would prefer to support the Friends of the Library through a monetary donation, that would be welcome too.
